Read MoreHey Hey! It’s Danielle, your favorite business strategist and OBM.
If you’re looking to structure your business for more freedom and life-work balance, then you’re in the right place. Let’s dive in!
Today, we’re talking about support systems and how crucial it is to have support on this journey. One of the most important things I’ve invested in is “business besties,” my accountability partners who have become my best friends. They are truly the best friends I’ve ever had in my entire life. These women are my ride-or-dies. It doesn’t matter what we’re going through—we talk life, we talk business, & we talk about it all.
They have been the one constant throughout this journey. I honestly feel like I owe my life to them because they’ve been there for me day in and day out, week to week, month to month, year to year.
While investing in coaches, mentors, consultants, and marketing is a huge part of your journey and very important,
You need to first understand what you need to invest in before randomly investing.
If you don’t know what you’re looking for & needing, it’s hard to blindly invest and hope it works out & it’s unlikely you will come out with a good ROI- Return on Investment.
To get to a place of clarity about what you need, I highly recommend finding accountability partners.
Accountability Partners
If you’re like me and need to verbally process things, talking them out can make it much easier to figure out your next steps.
Then, when you know what you need, it’s so much easier to go out and find the right support.
Finding The Right Person To Invest In For Support
Recently, a friend sent me a podcast where the woman talked about investing in support and how your values are a key consideration when making decisions.
She suggested finding someone who has the results you want.
While I agree with parts of her advice, I don’t fully agree with the idea of only seeking out people who have the life or results you want.
The truth is, their human design & personality isn’t like yours. This is something I’ve experienced firsthand. When I tried to replicate the strategies of outgoing business owners, I found it incredibly difficult because I’m an introvert. I was trying to build a business in ways that didn’t feel natural to me, which made it so much harder.
In the next episode, I’ll talk more about how I tapped into what aligned with my personality and human design, but for now, let’s focus on support. The podcaster made a great point about how a 25-year-old business coach without kids may not understand the needs of a mom building a part-time business. Their strategies and values will likely differ significantly.
This is why it’s so important to know who you’re investing in.
Two Types Of Coaches
There are two types of coaches: skills coaches who teach what worked for them, and strategists, like me, who focus on what’s best for you using coaching that pulls the aligned answers within you out + fills in any gaps that there may be.
You need to know the difference because if you hire a skills coach whose methods don’t align with your personality or values, you may end up disappointed.
When I started, I hired coaches who didn’t understand my family-first values & it hindered my growth.
Danielle’s Story
Some even suggested I get a traditional job, which didn’t make sense for my situation.
With three kids needing daycare and the costs of commuting, working outside the home would have been a financial burden. Literally, I was gonna be out about $10 to go to work… Paying every month to go to work & sacrificing my kids. That’s INSANITY why would anyone pay to go to work & miss out on their children’s lives?
I could be less broke by saving that $10 by staying home.
Starting a business allowed me to stay home, raise my children, and align my work with my values of thinking a mama should raise her children (if she desires that).
Interestingly enough, some of the coaches I worked with early on have since had children and are now restructuring their businesses to match their new family values.
Not a coincidence & exactly why what they were doing was not beneficial or the strategies I needed to implement.
Take Time To Do You Research Before Investing
Research potential coaches and understand their methods.
When you hire a skills coach, ensure their strategies align with your personality, values, and goals.
Otherwise, you might struggle to implement their advice.
Success becomes much easier when your business strategies align with who you are and how you naturally operate.
This is where the aligned entrepreneur comes from.
Every single strategy you implement in your business has to work together for an efficient flow and be aligned with you.
Especially if you’re going to be a solopreneur and working the business yourself, you’ll be the one who has to go out there and take action.
You’re not supposed to be going out there and forcing yourself to do things that you don’t want to do.
That is the hardest way to have success and that’s what this podcast is all about.
It’s truly about alignment.
Support Isn’t Always About Monetary Investment.
Having a network of accountability partners and friends who understand your journey is just as important.
These people can provide emotional support and encouragement when you need it most.
When you reach a point where you need skills or expertise beyond your capacity, that’s the time to invest in professional support or delegate tasks.
This is where my OBM services come in, helping you handle parts of your business that you don’t have the time or capacity for.
Women often hesitate to ask for help, but…
Teamwork truly makes the dream work.
Conclusion
Before investing, take the time to figure out what kind of support you need.
Join a free mastermind, find accountability partners, and verbally process your thoughts to gain clarity on your needs.
When you’re ready to invest, do your research.
Schedule free sales calls and qualify the people you’re considering working with, just as they qualify you as a client.
Knowing your values is crucial.
Your values and priorities will guide your business decisions and help you align your strategies with what matters most.
As seasons in your life and business change, you’ll need to reevaluate and adapt.
Success comes when you work within your strengths and align your actions with your passions.
When I very first started my business, my husband wasn’t fully on board. He didn’t see these business endeavors, I was chasing for freedom and to be able to have everything that I wanted in life. He didn’t see that as your traditional business, so he wasn’t fully on board with me from the start. Sometimes he would kind of just roll his eyes and shrug his shoulders, so he wasn’t always 100% backing me with what I was doing. He had to grow into that.
Sometimes strangers are better supporters than the people who love us most, and that is just the honest truth, especially when it comes to business. If you feel unsupported, reach out to me on Facebook Messenger. I’m always happy to have a coffee chat and talk through your goals. Whether or not you decide to work with me, I’m here to help you strategize and gain clarity.
Alignment is everything.
When you make decisions that honor your values and unique design, you create a business that works for you.
In the next episode, we’ll explore human design and personality, and how these impact your business. I’ll also cover mastering your actions for effortless success.
I’m excited about the next few episodes. We’ll talk soon!
